Art at Murray Pond

Joan Levy Hepburn mentors students to prepare strong portfolios required for private school, pre-college programs and college applications.  Many of her students are mentored from the age of 10 in the after school classes and summer camps. If the student is already a teenager  it is a good idea to start this process as soon as possible in high school.

The students are taught courses that they would be required to take in their first year of art school, so they experience the commitment and work load that will be expected of them if they choose to go to art school. This is a good way for students to be sure they want to go to art school. They also shine in art school in their first year, because they are more experienced than other students.

The Portfolio Preparation mentoring includes digital photographs of the artwork for online submissions, and personal written recommendations.

This work can also be submitted to scholastic art contests. Joan's students consistently win awards and scholarships and admission to the best schools in the country.
